Thanksgiving

Well this last week was my time off from work... The weekend befor we ran out of wood for the fire so my roommate scrambled to find some wood befor leaving for the holiday. We were rather blessed to find a guy who was willing to deliver at least part of the wood we wanted to buy befor Thur.... So Wed evening I spent stacking wood. The holiday it self was rather uneventful, rather the way I prefer. I spent dinner with a friend here in town, as mom was under the weather and I didn't dare go over and end up sick.

Well Sat. came along and with it more of the wood we bought. I finnished stacking the major part of the wood and figured I would hall the last little bit in the house and down the stairs to the wood stove.

I carried two arm loads down the stairs and on the third, a little over half way down.....

I lost my balance. I figured catch myself and let the wood go.... Well what I ment to do and what happened didn't work out so well. I ment to toss the wood away from the bottom of the stairs (so I wouldn't land on it if I kept falling) and grab the railing.

Well it was all great in a split second theory.... What happened was I instead threw the wood up in the air, missed the rail and came crashing down the stairs. I ran smack into the metal futon and somehow managed to get to the bottom befor the wood, which then landed on my arm.
As the pain started to hit me I came to realize that my left knee was throbbing and plastered into the futon but my right foot was still on the stairs behind me! So I twisted around till I could sit correctly and survayed the dammage (as tears were streeming down my face). First thing I noticed was the dirt and wood I had tossed over my clean laundry sitting on the futon. Then it hit me.... I had cut my knee!

Well after a few days it's finnaly looking a little better, even with the massive blue and purple hue's forming around it. And no I didn't go to the doctor, I just bandaged it up myself, not too bad for no stiches! Unfortunatly I can't avoid taking wood down the stairs....
