More snow to come

Friday morning I got Tuff's booties on and we headed out the door... good thing I put his booties on cause we got stuck just a block from home.

I got unstuck and a coworker came to pick me up at the house and while we waited Tuff checked out how deep the snow was.

When we got home we had a short play in the back yard.... it's really short when its only about 15 degrees out!

And more is comming down! This was at about 3:30 pm today.

Ice!

And with the snow comes Ice!
We have not had a chance to make it to the back yard remove ice from the roof yet.

This masive piece of ice was only a foot and a half long when we went to work Thur morning and this is what we saw when we came home.

After taking pictures of the ice Dave knocked them down and made an ice garden.

Snow Days

Well in Walla Walla it seems to be snow, snow, and more snow! This was just the start of the week!
My clients were not willing to stay home even with nearly knee high snow.... kinda hard to get a dog to go pottie out side!

This was Thur when I went by to see dad about a tire issue..... and it's still been comming since I think friday and saturday durring the day has been about the only break in the snow fall.

Thanksgiving

Well this last week was my time off from work... The weekend befor we ran out of wood for the fire so my roommate scrambled to find some wood befor leaving for the holiday. We were rather blessed to find a guy who was willing to deliver at least part of the wood we wanted to buy befor Thur.... So Wed evening I spent stacking wood. The holiday it self was rather uneventful, rather the way I prefer. I spent dinner with a friend here in town, as mom was under the weather and I didn't dare go over and end up sick.

Well Sat. came along and with it more of the wood we bought. I finnished stacking the major part of the wood and figured I would hall the last little bit in the house and down the stairs to the wood stove.

I carried two arm loads down the stairs and on the third, a little over half way down.....

I lost my balance. I figured catch myself and let the wood go.... Well what I ment to do and what happened didn't work out so well. I ment to toss the wood away from the bottom of the stairs (so I wouldn't land on it if I kept falling) and grab the railing.

Well it was all great in a split second theory.... What happened was I instead threw the wood up in the air, missed the rail and came crashing down the stairs. I ran smack into the metal futon and somehow managed to get to the bottom befor the wood, which then landed on my arm.
As the pain started to hit me I came to realize that my left knee was throbbing and plastered into the futon but my right foot was still on the stairs behind me! So I twisted around till I could sit correctly and survayed the dammage (as tears were streeming down my face). First thing I noticed was the dirt and wood I had tossed over my clean laundry sitting on the futon. Then it hit me.... I had cut my knee!

Well after a few days it's finnaly looking a little better, even with the massive blue and purple hue's forming around it. And no I didn't go to the doctor, I just bandaged it up myself, not too bad for no stiches! Unfortunatly I can't avoid taking wood down the stairs....

Halloween

Well I had fun on halloween and after my ideas morphing from one thing to another I finnaly setteled on one.... sorta a gothic clown... it wasn't too bad either, it won me 3rd place at the restraunt where I go to sing karaoke. My roommate didn't do to bad either he took 2nd.

Then On sat Nov. 1st we found out there was a motorcycle ride with a local club for a toys for tots run. It was all done weather permitting and what did ya know the weather worked out just long enough for the ride and started raining just after my roommate and I left the court house, where the ride ended.

The run was a huge success! For every person there was at least one toy donated. They counted 48 motorcycles plus passengers. They also took cash donations and raised over $1,000. I took tuff along too and most people got a real kick out of him. We traveled through town and most people who saw us waved, but there were a few people who were not so kind... Oh well we did a good thing and had lots of fun doing it!!

Time Off

Ok so I haven't posted anything in a while..... It's just me not a lot to say sometimes. But this week I took some time off from work and while I should be doing house cleaning and stuff I decided to have some fun. With halloween comming up next week it was time to come up with some ideas.... I tried one idea but it didn't quite turn out like the picture...

So I came to the conclusion that I would do some sort of scary clown.... But with a twist and have a black face instead of white. I didn't have any extra colors yet so I was just experminting with black and white....

As I was putting the black on I was thinkin to myself that it reminded me of shoe polish..... Well when I went to take it off it again reminded me of shoe polish and was not the easiest stuff to get off.

After a good wipe down and then a fair amount of dish soap I finnaly got it all off.... I haven't decided for sure what I'm going to do but when I'm all done I'll post the finnal pictures.

I'm a hazard to myself!!!

Well I have been a dog groomer for almost 10 years.... wow! That seems like a long time. It has some great days when you can take a dog that looks like it rolled out of bed right in to the dirt....

To looking like something you could cuddle up in bed with....
This is Polo one of my long time clients, his entire hair cut is done by hand scissoring (with the exception of his face feet and private areas.) Polo is a typical standard poodle, he may leave my shop looking like a foo foo dog but while he is away he plays hard like an athleate!!

Then there is the miniture poodles.... most of them are little princesses... boy or girl they are little lap dogs and spoiled rotten!!

Then there is the latest CRAZE.... the ever expencive "doodle". Gunner is a "Golden Doodle". Call him what you want but he is still a Golden Retrevier Poodle cross. Though it really says something when the owners tell you that their dog arrived on the short bus!

Gunner is another one of my dogs that plays hard while he is away but when he is done being groomed looks like a plush toy to cuddle with.... even if he is a little slow on the uptake I still love him!

Then there is Bo.... I'm not really a fan of Cocker Spaniels, but Bo is the exception to the rule. He is just a happy go lucky dog, kinda reminds me of a lab. My friend is the daughter of the couple who own Bo and wanted to see what he looked like with a mo-hawk.... So just for her I did it and took pictures. I knew her dad wouldn't aprove so after I took the pictures I shaved it off, but boy was it fun to do something creative!

Well in nearly 10 years at a job there are bound to be accidents! Thankgoodness they are rarely wtih the dogs.... unfortunatly that leaves me!

About a month ago while helping our new groomer.... Well I had a bit of a accident! That day I had just gotten my scissors back from being sharpened, lucky me! My coworker needed help trimming the eyebrows on a schnauzer. So while attempting to trim the eyebrows the dog jerked his head suddenly. In an attempt to not poke the dog in the eye with the scissors I also jerked my scissors away.... unfortunately for me I caught my scissors on a part of the table and in turn sliced my chin open with the tip of the scissors. Thankgoodness it wasn't too deep, I was able to patch it up wtih a little skin glue and avoid stitches. Though boy did it hurt! Don't run with scissors, standing still with them is bad enough!
